Switchboard Operator – Sugar Factory
Job Role : The Switchboard Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and control of electrical switchboards and distribution systems in the sugar factory. The role ensures safe and continuous power supply to all sections of the plant, including the mill house, boiling house, turbines, and co-generation unit.
Key Responsibilities:
*Operate and monitor HT/LT switchboards, MCC panels, and distribution boards in the power house and factory area.
*Perform switching operations for starting and stopping of motors, pumps, turbines, and other electrical equipment as instructed.
*Monitor load distribution, voltage, and current parameters to ensure stable operation.
*Assist in the synchronization and load sharing of generators or co-generation systems.
*Record and maintain daily electrical parameters, log sheets, and shift reports.
*Report immediately any abnormal condition, tripping, or fault to the Electrical Engineer.
*Follow proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and safety procedures during maintenance or breakdown.
*Assist during plant startup and shutdown activities.

- Other Skill Required: Knowledge of HT/LT systems, transformers, and switchgear operation. Ability to read and understand electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs). Familiarity with generator operation, synchronizing panels, and load management. Awareness of electrical safety rules and PPE usage , Attentive and alert under pressure. Good communication and coordination with engineers and plant operators. Responsible and safety-conscious attitude.
