Machinist
Job Role : Machinist is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining machine tools to produce precision metal or plastic parts according to specifications and drawings. The role ensures quality, accuracy, and efficiency in machining operations while adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines
- Perform precision machining of parts to required tolerances
- Measure and inspect finished components using gauges, micrometers, and calipers
- Maintain machines and equipment in good working condition
- Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machinery
- Ensure proper use of cutting tools, fixtures, and jigs
- Monitor production processes to maintain quality and efficiency
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and production output
