Fire & Safety Officer

Job Role : Fire & Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining fire safety and emergency preparedness systems across the Educational Trust’s campuses. This role ensures that buildings, classrooms, hostels, laboratories, and facilities comply with fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices. The officer conducts regular inspections, risk assessments, fire drills, and training sessions, maintains fire protection equipment, coordinates emergency response procedures, and ensures documentation and reporting are up to date.

Key Responsibilities : 

  • Conduct regular fire risk assessments and inspections of campus buildings, equipment, and escape routes.
  • Ensure fire safety systems (alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, emergency lighting) are maintained and fully operational.
  • Develop, update, and enforce fire safety policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Plan and conduct fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency response simulations.
  • Train students, staff, security, and maintenance personnel in fire safety awareness and emergency protocols.
  • Coordinate with local fire departments and regulatory authorities for compliance checks and inspections.

Effective organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation. Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external authorities. Good problem‑solving and emergency response decision‑making skills.
