Quality Engineer

Job Role :  Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving quality systems to ensure that flexible packaging and commercial printing products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. This role focuses on process control, inspection, testing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to ensure consistent product quality across all stages of production. 

Key Responsibilities :  

  • Monitor and control quality at all stages: incoming materials, in-process, and finished goods
  • Inspect raw materials such as films, inks, adhesives, and substrates as per specifications
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, drawings, and approved samples
  • Conduct process audits for printing, lamination, slitting, pouching, and finishing operations
  • Monitor critical quality parameters such as color matching, registration, bonding strength, and seal integrity
  • Perform quality testing (COF, GSM, bond strength, seal strength, ink adhesion, visual inspection, etc.)
  • Identify defects, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, and test reports
  • Handle customer complaints, feedback, and corrective action reports
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and procurement teams for quality improvements
  • Support internal and external audits (ISO, BRC, FSSC, GMP, customer audits)
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and environmental standards where applicable
  • Participate in new product development, trials, and process validation

  • Other Skill Required: Strong knowledge of quality systems and quality control tools Experience in flexible packaging and commercial printing processes Understanding of printing defects, lamination issues, and packaging performance requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, BRC, FSSC 22000, or similar standards Ability to use quality measuring and testing instruments Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, etc.) Good documentation and reporting skills Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset Effective communication and coordination skills Basic computer and ERP/MIS knowledge
