Planning Engineer
Job Role : Planning Engineer in a construction company is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely completion within budget and scope. The role involves preparing baseline programs, tracking progress, identifying delays, and coordinating with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to optimize resources and mitigate risks. The Planning Engineer plays a key role in project control by analyzing performance metrics, forecasting timelines, and supporting strategic decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop detailed project schedules and baseline programs.
- Prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and activity sequencing.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress.
- Identify delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare progress reports, S-curves, and MIS reports.
- Coordinate with site teams for accurate progress data.
- Perform resource planning and allocation analysis.
- Conduct delay analysis and prepare extension of time (EOT) claims.
- Update schedules using project management software.
