Job Role :  Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a Cooperative Bank is the highest executive authority responsible for overall strategic leadership, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and operational management of the bank. The CEO works closely with the Board of Directors to formulate policies, drive business growth, ensure sound risk management, and safeguard member interests in line with guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and, where applicable, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development .

Key Responsibilities : 

  • Develop and implement the bank’s strategic vision and business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with RBI and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, and profitability.
  • Strengthen risk management and internal control systems.
  • Lead credit appraisal, recovery, and asset quality management.
  • Supervise daily banking operations and branch performance.
  • Maintain statutory and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Coordinate with the Board of Directors for policy decisions.
  • Drive deposit mobilization and loan portfolio growth.
  • Ensure effective treasury and liquidity management.
  • Promote digital banking and technology adoption.
  • Manage audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Represent the bank in external meetings and regulatory forums.
  • Develop HR policies and staff performance management systems.
  • Safeguard cooperative principles and member interests.
