Librarian
JOB ROLE : Librarian is responsible for managing and developing the college library to support academic, research, and learning activities. The role involves organizing books, journals, digital resources, and research databases relevant to management and allied disciplines. The Librarian ensures efficient library operations, assists students and faculty in accessing information resources, maintains digital catalog systems, and promotes a reading and research culture within the institution. The position requires knowledge of library science, digital resource management, and academic compliance standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage daily operations of the college library.
- Acquire, catalog, classify, and maintain books and journals.
- Maintain digital library systems and e-resources.
- Assist students and faculty in research and reference services.
- Manage subscriptions to academic journals and databases.
- Maintain library automation and catalog software (OPAC).
- Develop and update library policies and procedures.
- Conduct library orientation programs for new students.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and inventory control.
- Coordinate stock verification and weeding of outdated materials.
- Promote reading habits and organize book exhibitions.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and academic standards.
- Manage budgeting and procurement of library resources.
- Supervise library staff and support personnel.
- Maintain a quiet, organized, and student-friendly environment.
