Job Role :  Director of Physical Education is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all sports, fitness, and physical education activities within the institution. The role focuses on promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and overall student well-being through structured training programs, competitions, and wellness initiatives. The Director oversees sports facilities, coaches, and events, ensures compliance with university and regulatory guidelines such as those of the University Grants Commission (UGC), and represents the institution in intercollegiate tournaments and sports associations.

Key Responsibilities : 

  • Plan and implement physical education programs for students.
  • Organize intra-college and intercollegiate sports competitions.
  • Train and guide students in various sports disciplines.
  • Manage sports facilities, equipment, and gymnasiums.
  • Prepare annual sports calendars and event schedules.
  • Supervise coaches, trainers, and support staff.
  • Ensure safety standards and injury prevention measures.
  • Maintain records of student participation and achievements.
  • Prepare budgets and manage sports-related expenditures.
  • Coordinate participation in university and state-level tournaments.
  • Conduct fitness assessments and wellness programs.
  • Ensure compliance with UGC and university sports guidelines.
  • Promote inclusive participation in sports activities.
  • Organize annual sports day and special athletic events.
  • Develop partnerships with sports organizations and associations.
