Job Role : Welder is responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and metal repair work to support the maintenance and development of the organization’s facilities. This includes repairing furniture, gates, railings, laboratory structures, workshop equipment, and other metal fixtures across classrooms, hostels, offices, and campus premises. The Welder ensures all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with institutional safety standards, contributing to a secure and well-maintained learning environment. 

Key Responsibilities :

  •  Perform ARC, MIG, and TIG welding as required.
  • Fabricate and repair metal furniture such as desks, benches, and shelves.
  • Repair gates, grills, stair railings, and fencing structures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal components accurately.
  • Inspect damaged metal structures and recommend repairs.
  • Ensure weld strength, durability, and finishing quality.
  • Maintain welding machines, cables, and tools properly.
  • Follow fire safety and workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist in installation of new structural frameworks.
  • Coordinate with facility and maintenance departments.
  • Maintain proper stock of welding materials and consumables.
  • Respond to urgent repair requirements promptly.
  • Keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
  • Document maintenance and fabrication work completed.
