Librarian
Job Role : Librarian of a law college is responsible for managing and maintaining the college library and ensuring easy access to legal information resources for students, faculty, and researchers. The role includes organizing law books, journals, legal databases, and reference materials, as well as assisting users in locating relevant legal information for academic and research purposes. The Librarian also manages library records, supervises library staff, and ensures proper cataloguing, classification, and preservation of library materials. Additionally, they promote effective use of library resources and maintain a quiet and supportive learning environment within the library.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage daily operations of the law college library.
- Organize and maintain law books, journals, reports, and legal reference materials.
- Catalogue and classify library resources using standard library systems.
- Assist students and faculty in locating legal information and research materials.
- Maintain records of book acquisition, issue, return, and inventory.
- Supervise library assistants and support staff.
- Ensure proper maintenance and preservation of books and documents.
- Manage subscriptions to legal journals, magazines, and online databases.
- Promote the use of library resources for academic and research activities.
- Maintain a quiet, organized, and student-friendly library environment.
