Trainee Engineer
Job Role : Trainee Engineer in a heavy engineering fabrication company is responsible for learning and assisting in various production, design, and quality processes under the guidance of senior engineers. This role provides hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, welding, machining, and inspection activities. The Trainee Engineer supports project execution by understanding engineering drawings, materials, and processes while contributing to the efficient workflow of the production floor. They also assist in quality checks, documentation, and process improvement initiatives, gradually gaining technical knowledge and practical skills required for handling complex engineering tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist senior engineers in production, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Support fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly operations.
- Assist in quality inspections and compliance with engineering standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of production activities and reports.
- Observe and learn safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Support process improvement and efficiency initiatives on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with different teams for smooth workflow and project execution.
- Assist in material handling, preparation, and inventory tracking.
- Participate in training sessions on fabrication techniques and equipment.
- Help in identifying defects and suggesting corrective actions under guidance.
- Attend project meetings and take notes for follow-up actions.
- Learn about project scheduling, resource planning, and workflow management.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues during fabrication.
- Observe and understand testing, calibration, and measurement techniques.
- Support senior engineers in field visits and client interactions.
- Gain hands-on experience with machinery, tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Participate in learning programs related to welding, machining, and assembly.
- Help ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
