Biogas Chemist
Job Role : Biogas Chemist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the chemical and biological processes involved in biogas production. This role ensures efficient digestion, stable gas output, high methane yield, and compliance with environmental and safety standards
Key Responsibilities : Conduct daily chemical and biological analysis of feedstock, slurry, and digestate. Monitor pH, VFA, alkalinity, COD, BOD, TS/VS, and other key process parameters. Optimize anaerobic digestion processes to improve methane yield and gas quality. Identify and troubleshoot process issues such as inhibition, foaming, or toxicity. Recommend chemical dosing, nutrient balancing, and process adjustments. Test biogas composition (CH₄, CO₂, H₂S, O₂) and ensure gas quality standards. Maintain laboratory equipment, sampling tools, and testing instruments. Document all test results, analysis reports, and process improvement findings. Support R&D activities for new feedstock, enzymes, or microbial additives.
