Chief Compliance Officer

Job Role : Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and overseeing the bank’s compliance framework to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management standards. The CCO acts as a key advisor to senior management and the Board on compliance matters, mitigating regulatory and operational risks while promoting ethical business practices.

Key Responsibilities : 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the bank’s compliance policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Monitor adherence to banking laws, regulations (RBI, SEBI, FEMA, AML/KYC, etc.), and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits, risk assessments, and reporting to the Board and regulators.
  • Advise senior management on emerging regulatory changes and their impact on operations.
  • Oversee anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance.
  • Manage regulatory inspections, audits, and ensure timely responses to regulators’ queries.
  • Provide compliance training and awareness programs for staff at all levels.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance breaches or violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with legal, risk management, and internal audit teams on compliance issues.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of compliance monitoring systems and controls.
