Environment Officer
Job Role : Environment Officer in a sugar factory is responsible for ensuring that all operations comply with environmental laws and regulations while minimizing the plant’s impact on the environment. They monitor waste management, emissions, and effluent treatment processes, and implement sustainability practices. The role involves conducting environmental audits, maintaining compliance documentation, and promoting eco-friendly initiatives within the factory.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
- Oversee effluent treatment plant (ETP) and waste management systems
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits Monitor air, water, and soil pollution levels
- Prepare and maintain environmental reports and records
- Ensure proper disposal of industrial waste and hazardous materials
- Implement pollution control measures and sustainability initiatives
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and agencies
- Conduct environmental impact assessments
- Promote awareness of environmental practices among employees
- Monitor emissions and ensure control systems are functioning
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 standards (if applicable)
- Handle environmental documentation and approvals
- Investigate environmental incidents and suggest corrective actions
