Heavy Fabrication Engineer
Job Role : Heavy Fabrication Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and supervising the fabrication of heavy structural components, pressure vessels, tanks, piping, and large assemblies. The role ensures that fabrication activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering drawings, codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and fabrication standards
- Plan and oversee heavy fabrication activities including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, IS, ISO, etc.)
- Coordinate with design, production, quality, and welding teams to ensure smooth execution
- Monitor fabrication progress, productivity, and resource utilization
- Ensure proper welding procedures, welder qualifications, and inspection requirements are followed
- Resolve fabrication issues, dimensional deviations, and fit-up problems
- Ensure adherence to safety practices and statutory requirements in fabrication shops
- Support inspections, testing, and documentation for quality and customer requirements
