Job Role : Highway Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and supervising highway and road projects. The role involves ensuring quality construction, adherence to safety standards, and timely project execution while coordinating with project managers, site teams, and contractors. The engineer plays a key role in optimizing resource utilization, managing site activities, and delivering durable and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and oversee highway and roadway construction projects
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for road development
  • Prepare project drawings, estimates, and technical reports
  • Supervise earthworks, grading, and pavement construction activities
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Manage material selection and usage for cost efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and site protocols
  • Inspect ongoing work and resolve technical issues on-site
  • Handle project documentation and reporting requirements
  • Optimize use of heavy machinery and equipment on-site
  • Support tendering, budgeting, and cost control processes
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure durability of road structures
  • Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies
