I.T.I. Fitter
Job Role : I.T.I. Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components, machinery, and equipment according to technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards. The role ensures efficient operation of machines and supports production or site activities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assemble and fit mechanical components as per drawings and instructions
- Install, align, and level machinery and equipment Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Inspect tools, machines, and mechanical systems for faults
- Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, filing, and fitting operations
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Replace or repair worn-out or damaged parts
- Ensure proper lubrication and adjustment of machines
- Follow safety procedures and use PPE at all times
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition

- Other Skill Required: Strong understanding of mechanical fitting practices Ability to measure accurately using vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges Knowledge of machine alignment and leveling techniques Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures Basic knowledge of welding, cutting, and gas tools (as applicable) Ability to identify and rectify mechanical faults Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity Awareness of workplace safety and PPE usage Ability to follow technical instructions and job cards Teamwork and coordination with supervisors and technicians Time management and job prioritization skills
