Job Role : Instrumentation Manager in a sugar factory is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, calibration, and performance of all instrumentation and control systems used in plant operations. They ensure accurate measurement and automation of processes such as crushing, boiling, and refining. The role involves managing a team of technicians, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that all instruments and control systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. 

Key Responsibilities : 

  • Manage installation, maintenance, and calibration of instruments
  • Ensure proper functioning of control and automation systems
  • Monitor process parameters and instrumentation performance
  • Plan preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
  • Lead and supervise instrumentation team and technicians
  • Troubleshoot faults in PLC, SCADA, and control systems
  • Ensure minimal downtime of plant operations
  • Maintain calibration records and documentation
  • Coordinate with production and maintenance departments
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industrial standards
  • Handle procurement of instrumentation equipment and spares
  • Upgrade and optimize automation systems for efficiency
  • Conduct inspections and performance checks of instruments
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections
  • Implement best practices for process control and monitoring
