Librarian
Job Role : Librarian is responsible for managing the institute’s library resources, supporting academic and research activities, and providing information services to students, faculty, and staff. The role focuses on both traditional and digital information systems relevant to science, engineering, and technology disciplines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Organize, maintain, and manage print and digital library collections, including books, journals, e-resources, and databases related to technology and applied sciences
- Assist students and faculty in locating and using library resources effectively
- Manage subscriptions to academic journals, e-books, and online databases
- Maintain library cataloging and classification systems (e.g., Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress)
- Support research activities by providing reference services, literature searches, and citation guidance
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures
- Conduct user orientation programs and information literacy sessions
- Coordinate with faculty to align library resources with curriculum and research needs
- Oversee library automation systems and digital repositories
- Ensure proper maintenance of library records and circulation systems
