Maintenance Engineer
Job Role : Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and availability of all production machinery and utility systems in a flexible packaging and commercial printing facility. This role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance of printing and converting equipment to minimize downtime, maintain product quality, and support continuous production. The Maintenance Engineer works closely with production teams to improve equipment efficiency, safety, and compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of printing and packaging machinery
- Maintain rotogravure, flexographic, offset, digital printing, lamination, slitting, and pouch-making machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Ensure minimum machine downtime and quick restoration of production
- Prepare and follow preventive maintenance schedules and checklists
- Maintain utilities such as compressors, chillers, boilers, DG sets, and HVAC systems
- Coordinate with production to plan maintenance activities
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and spare parts inventory
- Identify recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support installation, commissioning, and trials of new machines
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations
- Assist in audits and ensure machines meet quality and GMP requirements
- Train operators on basic machine care and safety practices
