Job Role :  Professor in an Ayurveda College is a senior academic and clinical expert responsible for teaching, mentoring, research, and guiding students in the principles and practices of Ayurveda. The professor delivers lectures on classical Ayurvedic texts such as the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya, while integrating modern medical advancements where appropriate. They supervise clinical training in hospital settings, contribute to academic curriculum development as per regulatory bodies like the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), and actively participate in research, publications, and community health programs

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver lectures on Ayurvedic principles, diagnostics, and treatment methodologies.
  • Teach classical texts such as Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita.
  • Supervise clinical training and patient care in the attached Ayurvedic hospital.
  • Guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
  • Develop and update curriculum as per NCISM guidelines.
  • Conduct academic assessments, examinations, and viva voce.
  • Publish research papers in reputed journals.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, and CME programs.
  • Mentor students for academic and professional growth.
  • Participate in college administration and academic committees.
  • Maintain academic records and documentation.
  • Engage in community outreach and health awareness programs.
  • Apply ethical standards in teaching and clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical departments.
  • Contribute to institutional accreditation processes.
