Purchase Officer
Job Role : Purchase Officer in a construction company is responsible for procuring all materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. The role ensures timely supply, cost efficiency, and quality compliance, supporting smooth project execution. The Purchase Officer works closely with project managers, site engineers, and suppliers to manage inventory, negotiate contracts, and maintain procurement records.
Key Responsibilities :
- Procure construction materials, machinery, and services as per project requirements
- Source and evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, and pricing
- Negotiate rates, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and maintain accurate documentation
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to avoid shortages or delays
- Coordinate with project managers and site engineers regarding material requirements
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites
- Inspect purchased materials for compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Track supplier performance and resolve supply-related issues
- Assist in budgeting and cost control for procurement activities
- Maintain records for audits and regulatory compliance
- Stay updated with market trends and price fluctuations of construction materials
