S.T.P. Operator
Job Role : S.T.P. Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the university’s sewage treatment plant (STP) systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant wastewater treatment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate and monitor the sewage treatment plant, pumps, motors, and control panels.
- Record daily readings of flow rates, pressure levels, chemical dosing, and plant operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure proper functioning of STP equipment.
- Perform regular cleaning, backwashing, desludging, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor water quality parameters and ensure treated water meets regulatory standards. Handle chemical dosing, storage, and safe usage according to guidelines.
- Identify operational issues, troubleshoot system faults, and report malfunctions.
- Maintain logs, records, and compliance documents as required by authorities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams, facility management, and university administration.
- Ensure safety protocols and environmental norms are strictly followed.

- Other Skill Required: Good knowledge of sewage treatment processes (STP/ETP), pumps, aerators, and filtration systems. Ability to operate mechanical and electrical equipment safely. Basic understanding of water testing parameters (pH, TSS, BOD, COD, etc.). Troubleshooting and maintenance abilities. Attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy. Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures. Physical fitness to handle operational and field tasks.
