Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Role : Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of infrastructure projects, including estimation, budgeting, measurements, contract management, billing, and cost control. The role ensures project profitability through accurate cost forecasting, efficient resource planning, and proactive management of commercial and contractual risks.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and BOQs for infrastructure works (roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, etc.).
  • Manage project budgets, cost control processes, and financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and verify contractor bills, measurements, progress reports, and variation claims.
  • Prepare and review subcontractor agreements, tender documents, and contract conditions.
  • Evaluate and negotiate rates, variations, claims, and change orders with contractors and consultants.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with cost and schedule targets.
  • Conduct site visits to verify executed quantities and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses.
  • Manage contractual risks and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and procurement teams to support commercial decisions.

  • Other Skill Required: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations. Advanced Excel skills for cost analysis, rate building, and financial reporting. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contracts. Strong negotiation skills for dealing with contractors, vendors, and clients. Good understanding of FIDIC, contract conditions, and commercial terms. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong teamwork and coordination abilities with cross-functional project teams. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle site-level challenges.
